Why I love Indian Toilets

This is one topic which had bothered me for years and today i took it to put down on the paper, thanks to my soulful vacation time @khopoli ( link to post here).

As Indians, we copied from the west from tinted glasses on our commercial buildings, to our dressing, to the kind of food we eat, to everything imaginable. One thing i have a severe dislike to, is growing love for pooping in commode.

The commode has crept into every house we visit, malls, hotels, petrol bunks and public toilets. People have gotten used to western toilet so much so that the houses with Indian toilets are being rejected or rented out for less money just because they  have the old Indian toilets. This is bothering me so much that i feel terrible for Indian toilets writing this ( Lol :D )

Our older generation had rightly designed the squatting toilets so that we throw the poop in the most scientific and natural way. In recent times, there have been surveys done in the western countries which blames increasing rectal diseases are directly linked to prolonged usage of western toilets. The way we sit on the western toilet creates pressure in the rectum and this causes rectal dysfunctions.

Although, the worst thing that puts me off to use western toilet is for hygiene reasons. We don't have the luxury of toilets stuffed with paper seat covers most of the places where western toilets exist. We end up sitting directly on the seat covers which are decorated with left over pee or water after its usage. Even if there is no water spill over the cover, because there are no paper covers used we end up sitting on the seat where others had placed their asses.  The chances of UTI and skin infections increases due to direct contact with the seat. Even if there are no skin infections, this is almost like touching your bare ass to their bare ass and its just very gross!!

Second problem that I have is, observe keenly and you will find only one toilet brush to clean the toilet at most of the places. Obviously the janitor wouldn't be using a separate toilet brush just to clean the seat. In most of the toilets they end up using that same single unlucky brush to push into the toilet hole, pull it out and use the same to clean the seat area while scrubbing. We end up using toilet without the seat cover yet again. this is a double gross stuff !!!!

I had to pen this down as I came across an article recently where this guy has given a smart tweak to the Indian toilets to make it more knee-friendly and its named as SquatEase. Ahh!! someone still thinks about traditional toilets! I am happy !

Squat toilets are the best for health as they promote easy excretion and helps prevent constipation.

May be the west should start switching to Indian toilets so that some day our brains can copy it from the west again !!
