the girl in my arms: embrace the embarrassment

I'm trying to wean my 2.5yr old from breastfeeding for the last week and she's been taken it like a champ for the whole week. Tonight we were in the garden having dinner. My neighbouring couple happen to pass by. mr.ron said " hello girl, how are you?" My daughter replied " I'm not drinking Amma s milk. Amma will be hurt". Instead of shushing her or shaming her, I added " I have been trying to wean her off from breastmilk for a week now and whomever tries to talk to her, she says she's not drinking Amma s milk. The couple were very kind and said " such a good girl you are" to my daughter and left. 

It's take a village to raise a child right.
