Ocean of gods
amidst hundreds of audience she was questioned "What are those thousands of Hindu gods made for?".
The tone meant a rhetorical punch. She was slightly moved by the question but in her tiny little head, she cleared her tiny sweet voice, puttng her grey matter in place. She stood there, had a full glance over all the hundred tie clad audience and said
"Yes there is a meaning in having those countless gods. To me, god is not a person. Its not a man or a woman, I do not give a gender to my god. Its just an idea. Its just an existence. deep and wide as much as you think. It is the collection of all possible characters and collection of innumerable personalities. To give you an example, god is like ocean. Everybody in the vast ocean, how tiny or big has its own purpose of existence. Only thing the Hinduism did about gods is it collected the related characters and put them into a form and gave it a name. This led to creation of many gods clearly defining a personality to each of it.
Why do we need this ? Thousands of god entities is for our ease. Its a natural tendency to flow towards something that we don't have, to get attracted to and to reach out to it. At any stage of life, you fall short of something in life, you find that thing in a particular god. You get attracted to that form of god. You go to him/her. You learn its personality, you derive strength/peace/support/a new pathway for your life from it. So thousands of gods is just like an ocean. Its just one vast entity, its an idea."
