Two days Hiking at Tobermory,Bruce peninsula, Ontario :D

Thats a small place  at the western end of Ontario province of Canada, with lake Huron shore all along. its about 300km from Toronto, and temperature remains 3 to 4 degree cooler than Toronto. The translucent blue waters with rugged rocked bruce trail running along the shores of Lake Huron is a must visit for all the outdoor lovers.

Booking my ticket through the tour company called travelling chickens https://www.facebook.com/TravellingChickenTrips/ , job being very well done by this young Lady  Lenka Mackjova. She arranges group trips all round the year in Toronto and all over Ontario. Slightly pricy but worth it.

We left to Tobermory Friday evening, reached there late night around 11.30 p.m. We had two cottages ( each one can accommodate 15ppl, most of cottages here are a minimum 2 days stay). If you love sunset get a cottage near waterfront or go to the west of the lake to watch beautiful sunset

We had our breakfast( prepared inside cottage, you can have white fish outside which is famous here) and walked to the crusies that took us to the fathom five national marine park. This is a very beautiful small island ( cant throw your garbage) which you reach after half an hour ride in the cruise. ( Cruise takes you over two of the ship wrecks that can be viewed through the transparent waters) . Its said that the island has 22 total ship wrecks, has rugged rocks making it a good spot for scuba divers and snorkelers.

This is a small island with a main trail which covers small and a big flowerpot kind of structures that are formed in the rocks due to years of erosion. Go catch the 9 am cruise if you dont want strangers to photobomb your picture. the trail takes you to a cave like structure formed in the rocks and one of the old lighthouse ( not that great as the spots, but still take the trail.) You will find lovely look outs along the trail. If you dont stop over too much you can finish the trail in 45minutes.

We left the island at 1.30 p.m and drove to the cyprus lake for a hike. We had to drive to bruce peninsula national park from here due to no parking availability. This place has many trails, we took the main trail, got through many lookout points of the Lake Huron shore waters. ( Nothing much to do here, nothing too picturesque too).

Next day we drove to Cyprus lake to get our parking spot ( morning 9 a.m its full in summers). This is a interesting place with many rugged rocks, famous grotto underwater cave, indian head cove lookout and hangout point. A must do at Tobermory. Main trail has good walk path after half an hour you will have to climb some rocks to reach Indian head cove. Very scenic and awesome place with crystal clear blue waters and rugged rock structures surrounding the beachy area. From there go ahead for 200m climbing the rocks ( difficult ). To reach the grotto. Climb down the rocks ( steep and very difficult) to reach the famous grotto underwater cave. None of them dared to swam under the cave due to bone chilling water and breath to be held for at least 50sec if you want to cross the cave. Good to take pictures and move ahead.
You have two more trails or you can continue to the main trail further 1km to reach lookout point. The rocks are very hard and small sized sharp. Sturdy shoes highly recommended. If you do this with running shoes, your feet and anklet will be in trouble. I returned back through the main trail ( its not a loop). Totally we spend well around 4 hours on two trails. ( You can spend a whole day here, relax, get some breathtaking pictures but go there with lots of packed food and garbage to take your garbage back).

Well spent two days of a lovely trip. One of the best trips of my life so far, getting lost in natures is always heartwarming feeling :) :).
